Go Cart

From Chincoteague 2009

There are a lot of fun things in Chincoteague. If you fancy go-cart racing and rock wall climbing they have it there too. Myrna and Jay-jay tried to spin around on the go-carts.

Best Ice-cream ever....

The best ice cream in the island. It is a local favorite and is on the top my To-Visit list. Ice cream never tasted this good probably because it is homemade…it even taste better than Haagen-Dazs. I must admit it is comparable to our Magnolia and Selecta Ice Cream. It actually reminds me of the tuod-tuod ice cream in Mactan but fancier.

Jeter does not want to slurp his ice-cream on a humid day because it was too hot for him !!!!! so I just have to take his picture from the outside. Jeter and his male Divo behaviour.... fierce...

Memorial Day at Chincoteague Island VA

For most of Marylanders, Memorial day is the start of the summer season. It is a start of a long fun journey in going to places where you always dreamed of during the long winter and spring season. The miles-and-miles of sandy beaches on the east coast; the smell of chlorine on aquamarine pools and the mouth watering barbecue meals. We have a long list of must-go places not to mention the endless birthday and Filipino festivals all around MD, VA and Metro DC.

I have been to Chincoteague a few times but this is the first time that I've decided to stay for 3 days. It was one of the most memorable experiences I had with Family and Friends. The long drive doesn’t bother you when you had fun with the kids even inside the car and to see the countryside. Reminds me when I was a kid of what seems to be a very long drive (25 min) in Mactan in going to Marigondon Beach. As you aproach the Coastline in Chincoteague the smell of the sea brings back a lot of memories in Mactan.

I was lucky this year because I am in company with a few photography enthusiasts. There is nothing like having a photo shoot from the best Pinoy photogs in Maryland.

Fiddler on the atup

From Fiddler

I was able to watch Fiddler on the Roof at Jannee's Middle School(Mario Loiderman). It wasn't too shabby but entertaining. For middle-schoolers to pull this broadway musical is quite a feat. It was unfortunate though that my daughter Jayjay was not able to make it to the final casting last January but maybe the role was not just meant for her. She felt bad about it but after watching the musical teasers at school she did not regret not having to make it. School plays brings a lot of fun memories of drama rehearsals during my high school days. I have watch a lot of stage/school plays in Cebu and honestly speaking we have better actors/singers and our production is much more grand. I told Jannee about my critic... and she seems to agree with it. But for the Cast and Crew of the Fiddler at Loiderman it was good enough...

May Festivals

The Fiesta month is here. I remember riding the Ouano barge going to downtown Mandaue to Celebrate the Fiesta. I remember having a scrumptious dinner at Nila/Bobby Peteros house and some other friends and relatives. Braving the throngs of St. Joseph devotees in going to church. That was then...Now in Maryland we still have bits and pieces of what we have back home. Last May 2, 2009 I attended the St. Rose of Lima annual Sta. Cruz an. After the parade we also have a potluck fiesta celebration. Not much but it was more than good enough. Filipino Fiestas are usually celebrated here in summer around July and August. Like last year's Baltimore Sta. Cruz an.

From Mothers Day

Its Mother's Day again.... no wonder Myrna is browsing the MACY's catalog the other day...hahhahaha.... The family always celebrate Mothers day... most probably this year the we will bond with Spring Cleaning and hopefully stroll around the mall. Wait a minute the swine-flu is just around the neighborhood (although not confirmed yet!!!). We will just have to settle of using Purell... Nothing can really stop Mothers day gift shopping... not even the Flu... but love conquers all... even risking your health just to have the best mother of all to have a small thing or two...
